Winchester, Model 1892, CAL: 44 cal., MFG: 1925, SN: 940130, Lever Action Rifle, 20 1/2'' Round barrel. Half mag. The straight grip wood stock & forend are good & solid, however the stock is a more modern replacement. The stock has a high gloss finish, with few handling marks, but did require some filler at the upper tang & against the receiver to aid in fit. The forend appear original, with a few minor contusions & scratches to the original finish. There is a 2 1/2'' tight glue repaired crack on the left side of the forend. The bull barrel is an unmarked replacement, without caliber marking. The receiver, barrel & lever carry a modern high gloss blue, with 90% coverage, while the mag tube appears to carry the original finish. Bore is excellent. The barrel holds a Marbles full buckhorn adjustable rear sight & an open front dovetail. Buttstock carries a checkered metal buttplate. Smooth action. The rifle seen a lot of use, but likely remains a good shooter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 350 to 600
