RARE Winchester, Model 64, CAL: 219 ZIPPER, MFG: 1933-57, SN: 1376640, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Round barrel. 1/2 Mag. The model 64 is a revamped version of the model 55, which itself was a revamped improvement on the model 1894. Approximately 66,783 were produced between 1933 57, making it a fairly rare Winchester model. However, 219 Zipper examples are the most desirable caliber due to extremely low production & considered ''very rare'' amongst Winchester collectors. In fact, The Blue Book of values places a 500% premium on 219 Zipper example. In addition, this particular example comes mounted with the very rare Winchester bolt mounted peep sight, giving it even greater desirability & an addition $300 premium. The original flat pistol grip wood stocks are excellent, with very few handling marks to the original finish. There is however a filled small sling hole in the belly of the stock 1'' above the toe. The orignal metal blue finish rates 98% on the barrel, 95% on the mag tube & 90% on the receiver, with most of that loss found on the forward belly of the receiver. Bore is excellent. The barrel holds a blank filled rear dovetail & ramp elevated hooded front sight. Stock carries the original checkered metal buttplate. This rifle is in overall excellent original condition & a fantastic collectible example. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 4000 to 6000
