Savage, Model 1899 Take-down, marked 25-35 Cal., MFG: 1909, SN: 102751, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Round barrel. The original straight grip wood stock & Schnabel forend are excellent & solid. There are several small scratches, scuffs & scrapes to what appears to be the original finish. The finish on the stock has crinkled, likely from heat exposure, & it also shows some thinning & flaking on both stock & forend. There is a thin 1/2'' letter ''S'' carved into the forend belly by the tip. The metal blue finish on the barrel rates 90%, 75% on the receiver, with areas of loss or wear primarily on the belly of the stock. The case-hardened lever displays the remains of solid case-coloring. The rifle is fitted with a Marble tang sight, while the barrel carries a blank filled rear dovetail & Rocky Mountain blade front sight. Bore is very good. The stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. Action remains solid & tight. A great overall appearance. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
