Savage, Model 99 Take-down, marked 250-3000 Cal., MFG: 1931, SN: 337358, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' Round barrel. The original checkered & capped pistol grip wood stock & Schnabel forend are good & solid, with the stock having been cut short at one time & later a 1'' wood spacer added back. The pistol grip is fitted with a antler made cap, which is nice. There are small scratches, scuffs & scrapes to what appears to be the original finish. Much of the checkering has worn smooth & the finish also shows some thinning & flaking from use wear. There are several ''kill notches'' tallied behind the pistol grip. The metal blue finish on the barrel rates 75%, while the receiver has worn mostly gray, with 30% original blue remaining. The rifle is fitted with a Marble tang sight, while the barrel carries a Marble blank filled rear dovetail & blade front sight. Bore is excellent. The stock carries a replaced checkered plastic buttplate. Action remains smooth & tight. Likely a great deer rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
