CUSTOM Meacham High Wall, Caliber Marked .45 2.1 MATCH, MFG. Modern SN: 369, Lever Action Single Shot Rifle, 32'' Octagon to round heavy barrel. Steve Meacham, was the owner of S.D. Meacham Tool & Hardware Co. in Peck, ID, now retired. He along with a few master craftsman he employed manufactured about 40 rifles a year total. Their replica guns are of the highest quality & have a large following. All of Meacham's guns are based on Winchester single shots made from 1885-1910. These handmade guns are used mostly for silhouette shooting, but also are good target guns. His Meacham 1885 High Walls featured a glossed walnut stock, with pistol grip/ raised cheek & Schnabel forearm, with black tip inlays, checkered metal buttplate, case-hardened receiver, a heavy barrels high luster royal bluing, adjustable flip-up rear tang sight (not currently on this rifle), dovetailed front globe sight with level & double set-triggers. The original wood stocks on this example are excellent, with a few minor contusions, handling marks & scratches the original finish. Wood grain is fantastic. The case-hardened receiver, block, lever, & hammer has faded case-colors of mostly gray & blue, some smokey outlines. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 95%. Bore is excellent. Missing the flip-up tang, but barrel carries the original globe silhouette front sight with spirit level. Checkered metal widow's peak shotgun buttplate. The breech end of the forearm & bottom flat of the barrel under the forearm is stamped with the matching SN ''369''. In addition, the same barrel flat is stamped ''BB'', ''45 21'', ''18'', ''450'' & ''458''. Fancy spur type lever. A fantastic, all original & authentic custom reproduction of an 1885 rifle.
