J. Stevens A & T Co, Model 44 Single Shot, CAL: 25-20, MFG: 1894-1932, SN: 61441, Lever Action Falling Block Rifle, 26'' Octagon to round barrel. The original straight grip wood stocks are very good, as having been sanded re-oiled long ago. There is a small raised chip at the toe of the stock & other small nicks, dings & contusions. Schnabel tip forend. The metal finish has toned to a chocolate brown patina. Bore is good, with roughness amongst strong rifling. The barrel carries an adjustable rear & folding globe front sights. Crescent metal buttplate. Matching SN on lower tang & on barrel. There is some chatter vise marks on the receiver top & sides. From FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
