Remington, Model 4, .32 SHORT or LONG R.F., MFG 1890-1902, SN: J244963, 22 1/2'' Octagon barrel, Rolling block single shot rifle. The model 4 was produced from 1890 to 1933 in several variation & evolutions. The model 4 began production in 1890 as a screw in fixed barrel, but it was change to a takedown with lever in 1902 until 1924 when it was changed again to a take-down screw. This rifle with a solid receiver was produce from 1890 to 1902 . The straight grip wood stocks are very good & solid, showing several small marks & contusions to what appears to be the original finish. The metal surfaces have toned to an even brown patina. Bore is fair, with pitting & scarring amongst worn rifling. Barrel carries a fixed rear sight, which has a copper shim to help hold it in place, & standard front blade sight. The stock carries a smooth metal buttplate. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 400
