Belgium, Flobert Cadet Rifle, Appears to be 32 RF Cal., SN: None, MFG. Circa 1870, Antique, Rolling block rifle, 27 7/8'' Round barrel, This is a very interesting small Cadet Rifle, made using the rolling block system designed by Louis-Nicolas Flobert, the inventor of rimfire ammunition. The barrel is fully rifled. The walnut wood stock goes almost to the muzzle & has three iron barrel bands. The trigger guard & the buttplate are also of iron. The left side of the barrel is marked with Belgian markings, including E / L G / * in an oval & ''Belgium''. The original wood stocks is very good, having been lightly sanded & refinished, with numerous minor handling marks, scratches or contusions. The metal on the barrel is a mix of remaining blue & a developing brown patina. Some wood finish on metal. Barrel has an open rear dovetail & a small box blade front sight. Bore is good, clean, but with scarring amongst thinning rifling. Original metal buttplate. Metal cleaning rod. Sling loops in stock & on barrel band. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 500
