Belgium, Flobert Cadet Rifle, Appears to be 32 RF Cal., SN: 2090, MFG. Circa 1870, Antique, Rolling block rifle, 28'' Round barrel, This is a very interesting small Cadet Rifle, made using the rolling block system designed by Louis-Nicolas Flobert, the inventor of rimfire ammunition. Rifled barrel. The walnut wood stock goes almost to the muzzle & has three iron barrel bands. The trigger guard & the buttplate are also of iron. The left side of the barrel is marked with Belgian markings, including E / L G / * in an oval & ''*X''. The rack/inventory # ''11'' is stamped int the toe area of the stock. The original wood stocks is good, but with numerous small scrapes, scratches or contusions. The upper tang is missing its screw, which has allowed the receiver to slide backward about 1/4''. The hammer won't stay cocked, which may be in part caused by the slide back receiver. The lever on the falling block has been broken off, but can be opened with tools. The metal surfaces are rust brown, with pitting. Some wood finish on metal. Barrel has the original rear & a small box blade front sight. Bore is poor, with rust pitting & scarring amongst some visible rifling remaining. Original metal buttplate. Metal cleaning rod. Sling loops missing in stock, but present on barrel band. The rifle needs some love & attention from someone who would like to restore it & can do some repairs. Due the repairs needed, this rifle is being sold ''AS IS'' as a parts rifle, with no returns. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 100 to 250
