Sporterized Rifle, Built from a German Gew 98 Mauser, CAL: Unknown (however a .250 Savage appears to cycle through the action), MFG: 1898-60's (action), SN: None, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' Round barrel. The upgraded cheeked & flat pistol grip Monte Carlo style walnut stock is fair to good, but with a stress crack on the right wrist emanating from the lower tang. The stock has a natural knot on both sides at the lower portion by the toe & recoil pad, which have portions of the knot wood missing. The are several minor contusions or handling marks to the stock's finish. The metal surfaces were heavily buffed & polished removing all original markings or stampings. The metal is a combination gun metal gray & a thin brown patina. The barrel appears original with the open sights removed. The top of the receiver has no provisions for scope or receiver sight. Bore is very good. Stock carries a hardened ventilated recoil pad. Modified bolt handle to a swept back position. We recommend rifle visits a gunsmith before attempting to fire to determine caliber & proper functionality, & is therefore being sold ''AS-IS'' with no returns. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 200
