Remington, Model 14, .25 REM Cal., MFG. 1920, SN:71788, Pump Auction Take-down Rifle. 22'' round barrel. The original pistol grip stock is good & solid, despite a tight 2'' hairline crack at the right side of wrist & a second 1/4'' tight stress crack just above it. There is also a small glue repaired chip at the lower left corner of the wrist. The original forearm is very good. The wood has been sanded & refinished, with some small handling marks & light contusions. The original metal finish has worn mostly gray, with areas toning to a thin brown patina. The left side of the receiver has two open holes likely from a previous scope mounting, needs filler screws. Bore is good, which is typically well above average for these .25 cals. Barrel carries a replaced adjustable rear & ramp front sights, with the 2nd dovetail under the rear sight from the original rear wheel sight, remains open. Stock carries the original reverse tear metal buttplate. Action is smooth & tight. Rifle appears to function well & should make for a good hunting rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
