Savage Arms Corp., Model 219, CAL: .22 Hornet, MFG: 1935-1950, SN: None, Break Action Single Shot Rifle, 26'' barrel. The original flat pistol grip wood stock is very good & solid, despite a 3'' stress crack to the right side of the wrist emanating from the receiver. The stocks appear to have been previously sanded & nicely refinished, with amateur checkering on the wrist & forend. The original metal blue finish rates 40% overall. Bore is very good. The receiver is fitted with a Lyman 55C receiver sight, while the barrel has an open rear dovetail, ramped front blade sight, & two screw filled holes at the left side of the barrel at the breech end from previous scope mounting. Stock carries a black plastic buttplate. Open sling provisions of two holes in the belly of the stock & an open dovetail on the bottom of the barrel just in front of the forend tip. A good little light weight backpacking single shot rifle, 26'' broken down length, in the popular 223 caliber. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 150 to 300
