E.K. Tryon Co., Model Keystone (Savage model 29 variant), marked .22 S. L. LR., MFG: 1930's, SN: 1659, Pump Action Rifle, 24'' round barrel. 3/4 Tube mag. The Edward K. Tryon Company was a sporting goods retailer & wholesaler located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They were in business under various Tryon names from 1811 until sometime in the mid to late 1950s. Edw. K. Tryon was the largest sporting goods retailer in the United States & possibly the world for some time. They sold numerous firearms under their own name, as produced by several of the firearms manufacturer of the time. This rifle is one of those as produced by Savage, as a variant of the model 29. The original flat pistol grip wood stocks are excellent & solid, with several minor scratches, contusions & scrapes to the original thinning finish. The metal blue finish rates 80% on the barrel & mag, 30% on the receiver, with the balance having a thin brown patina. Bore is excellent. Adjustable rear & front blade sights. Smooth metal buttplate.
