Marlin, Model 39, CAL: 22 S.L.LR, MFG: 1920's, SN: S6909, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' octagon barrel. Full mag. The original scalloped pistol grip wood stocks are very good, having been sanded & refinished. There are minor contusions & handling marks which remain. The trademark bullseye is present on the bottom belly of the stock. The original metal blue finish on the barrel is a mix of remaining blue, which is toning to a brown patina. The finish on the mag tube has worn to a thin brown patina. The receiver appears to have been case-hardened, but displays no case-colors, rather a thin brown patina. Bore has solid rifling, but has thinned amongst cleaned scars & pitting. The barrel holds a replaced adjustable rear sight & blade front sight. The buttplate carries a Marlin checkered plastic buttplate which is slightly proud to the wood. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
