Western Field, Model M865A Carbine (Mossberg 402), marked .22 S.L.LR. Cal., MFG: 1961-71, SN: 436640, Lever Action Carbine, 20 1/4'' Round barrel, Full mag., The original wood stocks are good & solid, but someone has started a sand & refinish project on the stock that was never completed. There are a few small scratches, scrapes & contusions remaining. There is a 2'' stress crack emanating from the upper tang & running to the comb. The original factory blue finish on the barrel & mag rates 80%, but with rust speckling. The Japan black finish on the receiver rates 70%, with most of the loss on the left side from someone scrubbing it off. The barrel carries factory rear & front sights. Bore is very good. The stock is missing the buttplate. Sling loops. An interesting little boys rifle & copy of dad's carbine. FFL & C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 200
