J. Stevens Arms Co./ Savage, Model: Crack Shot-26, Cal: .22 LR, MFG: 1920-41, S/N: None, Lever action Single shot rifle, 22'' barrel. The straight wrist hardwood stock & forend are fair, after having a 9'' complete toe break repair. The belly of the stock has 4 drilled holes likely with glued dowels inside as part of the toe repair. The stock had been previously sanded & refinished, but now has again been lightly sanded around the repair, with no added oil or finish. There is a 3'' glued crack on both the right & left side of the stock beneath the upper comb emanating from the buttend. There is also 3'' crack on the left side of the wrist, a 1 1/2'' crack on the right & a 1 1/2'' crack on the top. The buttplate is proud to the wood, with the biggest gap around the toe. The stock does have some up & down wobble. The metal has been buffed cleaned, removing most of the blued finish, leaving metal a gun metal gray & spotty brown patina amongst cleaned pitting. The left side of the receiver is marked with a ''18'' in a circle proof mark, ''CRACK SHOT-26'', & with the ''SVG'' in a circle savage mark. The top of the barrel is marked ''J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY'' with their patent dates & address, ''22-LONG RIFLE'', ''MADE IN USA'', & a ''16'' in a circle proof. The bore is good, with spots of roughness & pitting amongst solid rifling. The barrel holds a brass blade front sight with a V-notch fixed rear sight. The stock carries a hard rubber buttplate. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 80 to 150
