W & C Scott & Son, The Premier Quality Gun, CAL 12GA, MFG: 1876, SN: 7534, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 30'' barrels. The checkered & capped pistol grip stocks are excellent. There are smoothed contusions & scrapes, although the stocks don't appear to be refinished, but have had protective oils added over time. Blank brass initial plate behind the break lever. The checkering on the forend is beginning to wear smooth. Metal is slightly proud to the wood surfaces around the tangs & forend break lever, mostly likely from shrinkage over time. The Damascus barrels have completely worn to metal gray, with intermittent spotting throughout toned to a brown patina. The Damascus thumbprint pattern is still easily visible. The receiver, trigger guard, hammers, break lever, barrel ends & forend break lever all display beautiful & intricate ornamental scroll engraving. The case-hardened receiver has remnants of case-colors in heavily protected areas, mostly worn to metal gray. Bores are good, with roughness & light pitting near the chamber. The solid rib holds a single front bead. Stock has a worn, checkered horn widow's peak buttplate. Comes with a leather case that's aged, cracked & the carry strap is broken. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
