Punt/Market Gun, 4 Ga, Percussion muzzleloader converted from flintlock, MFG: pre 1900's, 47'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is fair with multiple large cracks & grain pops, scratches, dings, nicks, & wear from use/age. The metal has toned a chocolate brown patina with spots of rust speckling & light pitting. The boor is poor. Has lots of rust & pitting. Barrel holds a bead front sight. Stock does not have a buttplate. This large gun would have been assembled from bought parts like the lock & barrel, but with a homemade stock by a market hunter, & they would have used it to take out large amounts of bird game in one shot, to then sell in the market in town to make a living. Muzzleloader No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
