Gibbs Rifle Co (Remington) Model: 03-A3, Cal: .30-06, MFG: 1942, S/N: 3391121, Bolt action rifle, 24'' barrel. This is a Gibbs Rifle Company Rebuild rifle. They took 03-A3 Drill rifles that were de-milled & rebuilt them with new production barrels into complete rifles, this one was mocked up to look like a 03-A4 sniper. The Modern CMP, type C, Semi pistol grip stock is excellent with little to no wear. There is a ''C.M.P.'' in a box cartouche on the left side of the stock above the trigger. The gray/green parkerized finish rates 99% overall with light wear. The top of the receiver, under the scope mount, is marked ''U.S.'', ''REMINGTON'', ''MODEL 03-A3'', & S/N. the top end of the barrel is marked ''G.R.'', CROWN, ''5-09''. The bore is excellent. Its bright & mirror like with minor roughness in a spot. The rifle has no open sight but comes with a Replica M73B1 (Weaver 330) scope & replica scope mounts all marked Gibs Rifle Co.. The right side of the scope is marked ''TELESCOPE M73G1'', ''FM OPTICS'', ''GIBBS RIFLE CO.'', ''MARTINSBURG. WV''. The stock carries a grooved, parkerized, steel trapdoor buttplate. The inside of the trapdoor is empty. Rifle has both sling loops with the stacking loop. A excellent example of a rebuilt rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 700 to 1400
