Harrington & Richardson, Model: M1 Garand, Cal: .30-06, MFG: 1954, S/N: 5616445, Semi-auto rifle, 24'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip black walnut stock is very good with nicks, dings, dents, scratches & wear from use/age. There is a ''R.R.A'' stamp in the left cheek meaning this rifle war rebuilt/refurbished after the war at the Red River Arsenal in Texarkana Texas. There is a half worn ''P'' in square proof on the bottom of the wrist. The parkerized metal finish on the receiver rates 90% with full coverage & just some light wear. The blued finish on the barrel rates 85% with some areas of thinning & wear. The top rear of receiver is marked ''U.S.RIFLE'', ''CAL. .30 M1'', ''H.&R. ARMS CO.'', & the S/N. the top of the bolt is marked with a drawing number, ''H.R.A'', & ''U.W.''. The right rear sight of the barrel is marked ''HRA 6535448 4-55 RS 51'', ''M'', ''X''. The bore is excellent. Its bright & mirror like with only minor wear. The barrel holds a wide blade front sight with protective wings, & the rear of the receiver has a fully adjustable aperture rear sight. The stock carries a checkered steel trapdoor buttplate with a oiler/grease bottle inside. Rifle has both sling loops with the third stacking swivel. A very nice example of a Korea war era M1 Garand.
