Springfield Armory, Model: M1 Garand, Cal: .30-06, MFG: 1941, S/N: 220057, Semi-Auto rifle, 24'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip wood stock is good with small nicks, dings, & scratches from use, has a sticker mark on right side. Stock has been lightly sanded & re-finished. Stock has also been cut down to make the LOP the same with the recoil pad installed. There are two 1 1/2'' hairline tight cracks on the left & right of the forward handguard. There are no visible cartouches on the stock. The black phosphate metal finish rates 45% on the receiver with areas of thinned finish & gun metal gray. The barrels metal finish rates 90% with small areas of wear. The top rear of the receiver is marked ''U.S. RIFLE'', ''CAL .30 M1'', ''SPRINGFIELD'', ''ARMORY'', & S/N. the top of the bolt is marked with a drawing number. The right side of the barrel is marked ''X9'', & a Winchester proof stamp. The smaller components of the rifle are a mix of Springfield & Winchester parts. The bore is good. Its bright with areas of roughness/ light pitting & thinned rifling. The barrel holds a blade front sight with protective wings. The rear sight is missing components. The stock carries a aftermarket ventilated rubber recoil pad. The rifle has both bottom sling loops with the third stacking swivel. Rifle comes with a after market 1907 style leather sling.
