Saginaw SG, Model: M1 Carbine, Cal: .30 Carbine, MFG: 1943-44, S/N: 3327975, Semi-auto rifle, 17 3/4'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip, Type 3 wood stock is very good with minor nicks, dings, scratches, & wear from use/age. The bottom of the pistol grip & the bottom of the stock Infront of the mag is stamped ''40''. There is a ''P'' stamped into the pistol grip. The bottom of the pistol grip has a very faint ''RA-P'' stamp. The inside of the sling well is stamped ''10''. The parkerized metal finish has full coverage & rates 90% with areas of light wear & brown patina forming. The receiver band is marked ''U.S.CARBINE'', ''CAL. .30M1''. The rear of the receiver is marked ''SAGINAW SG'', & the S/N. the top end of the barrel is marked ''UNDERWOOD'', ''2-44'', the US ordinance flaming bomb, & ''P''. The barrel band is marked ''SI''. The bore is very good. Its bright & mirror like with lightly thinned rifling. The barrel holds a wide blade front sight with protective wings. The rear of the receiver holds a fully adjustable aperture rear sight. The stock carries a checkered steel buttplate with areas of light rust. The rifle has the oil bottle/ rear sling mount & the left side front sling loop. Rifle comes with a period correct canvas sling, oiler bottle, one 15 Rd. magazine marked ''R-C'' on the back, & a M4 bayonet & sheath/frog, the bayonet is marked ''CONETTA''. A very beautiful post war updated Saginaw M1 carbine. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
