Underwood, Model: M1 Carbine, Cal: .30 Carbine, MFG: 1943, S/N: 1400594, Semi-auto rifle, 17 3/4'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip, Type 3 wood stock is very good with minor nicks, dings, scratches, & wear from use/age. There are faint remains of white paint marking on the right cheek of the stock. There is a 3/4'' tight crack on the top of the wrist that emanates from the upper tang. The parkerized metal finish has full coverage & rates 80% with areas of wear & thinning. The receiver band is marked ''U.S.CARBINE'', ''CAL. .30M1''. The rear of the receiver is marked ''UNDERWOOD'', & the S/N. the top end of the barrel is marked ''UNDERWOOD'', ''2-43'', US ordinance flaming bomb, & ''P''. The barrel band is marked ''AI''. The bore is excellent. Bright & mirror like with minimal wear. The barrel holds a wide blade front sight with protective wings. The rear of the receiver holds a fully adjustable aperture rear sight. The stock carries a checkered steel buttplate. The rifle has the oil bottle/ rear sling mount & the left side front sling loop. Rifle comes with a period correct canvas sling, oiler bottle, & one 15 Rd. magazine marked ''IS'' on the back. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
