R.F.I. (Rifle Factory Ishapore), Model: 2A1, Cal: 7.62x51mm NATO, MFG: 1967, S/N: W3110, Bolt action rifle, 25 1/4'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip wood stock is very good with various nicks, dings, dents, scratches, & wear from use/age. There is a ''S'' upward arrow ''A'' cartouche on the right cheek, which is a Indian arms inspection stamp. There are faint markings on the bottom of the wrist. The right cheek of the stock is marked in white paint ''348''. The S/N & a few other faint markings are stamped into the bottom of the stock by the muzzle. The black paint metal finish rates 75% overall with areas of wear & scratches. The right side of the wrist band is marked with the state emblem of India, ''RIFLE'', ''7.62MM2A1'', ''R.F.I.'', ''1967''. The receiver band is marked with the S/N, a proof stamp. The left side of the receiver is marked with import stamps. The rear sight protector is marked ''DP'' on the right ear & ''C'' on the left ear. The bore is very good. Its bright with a few small patches of roughness. The barrel holds a wide blade front sight with protective ears & a tangent U-notch rear sight marked 2 to 8. the stock carries a aluminum trapdoor buttplate with nothing inside. Rifle has both bottom sling loops. A excellent 7.62 NATO SMLE. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
