Remington, Model: M1891, Cal: 7.62x54mmR, MFG: 1917, S/N: 555059, Bolt action rifle, 31 1/2'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is good as being sanded down & shaped in areas. The stock has also been shortened a by a couple of inches in the front. The metal has toned to a black/brown patina with cleaned pitting scars on all metal parts. The top of the barrel is marked with the Russian Tsarist eagle & ''n'' Russian military acceptance mark, ''REMINGTON'', ''ARMORY'', ''1917'', ''No'' & the S/N. the top of the receiver is marked with the same Russian Tsarist eagle & ''n'' mark that's on the barrel. The rear upper tang is stamped with a ''C''. There are no visible import marks on the rifle. The bore is fair. Its dark with roughness. The barrel holds a tall barleycorn front sight with the Konolavov rear sight marked in arshin, on the base 4 to 12, & 13 to 30. the stock carries a steel buttplate that has a even coating of rust.
