Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori, Model: M1896, Cal: 6.5x55mm, MFG: 1917, S/N: 408552, bolt action rifle, 29'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good with various small nicks, dings, dents, scratches, & wear from use/age. The bottom of the wrist has a crown over ''B'' cartouche. The metal is proud to the wood around the front of the magazine floorplate. The right cheek of the stock has a embedded brass bore disc. The metal finish rates 90% overall with light scratches & areas of light thinning. The top of the receiver is marked with a crown, ''CARL GUSTAFS STADS GEVARSFAKTORI'', ''1917''. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N, & ''H.K'' which is the Inspector initials of Kapten, Helge Gustaf Ludvig Kolthoff, who was a Inspection Officer at the Carl Gustafs plant from April 1, 1912 to February 28, 1923, making him the longest serving inspector at the Carl Gustafs plant. The end of barrel stamped with importer marks. S/N matched bolt, magazine floor plate, buttplate, & all other smaller parts other than the cleaning rod. The top rear of the receiver has two holes drilled & tapped for a sight. Bore is excellent near MINT. The barrel holds a squared blade front sight with a stepped tangent/ladder rear sight marked 3 to 6 on top of ladder & 7 to 20 on back of ladder. The stock carries a blued steel buttplate that has light wear around the edges. Rifle has both bottom sling loops, & has its cleaning rod. Comes with a leather M1907 style sling. The Swedish Mauser's are know to be some of the best quality built Mauser's ever made & with the excellent bore this would make a excellent shooter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
