Fabrica De Armas (Spanish), Model: M1916, Cal: 7x57mm Mauser, MFG: 1916-51, S/N: D4731, Bolt action rifle, 22'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good as being sanded & oiled. No visible cartouches on the stock other than the previous S/N ''9756'' on the left side of the stock by the receiver. There is a 1'' hairline crack on the upper handguard emanating from the rear sight. Metal is proud to the wood around the front of the magazine floor plate & around the toe, there is also a small gap between the stock & buttplate at the toe. The black paint metal finish rates 90% overall with areas of light wear & scratches. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N. there are no visible import marks on the rifle. The bolt & other serialized parts are not S/N matching to the rifle. The bore is good. Its beginning to darken with constant roughness throughout, but still has strong rifling. The barrel holds a tall barleycorn front sight with protective ears, & a tangent V-notch rear sight marked 3 to 20 on the base & the ladder. The stock carries a blued steel buttplate with areas of wear/thinning & rust patina. The rifle has both side sling loops. Rifle comes with its cleaning rod. A nice handy carbine that would make a very nice shooter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 400
