F.G.G.Y. Budapest (Hungarian), Model: M95/30 Repetier-Karabiner Stutzen, Cal: 8x56mmR, MFG: 1897-1918, S/N: 1948F, Straight pull bolt action rifle, 20'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip wood stock is excellent. This stock is a replacement from another rifle that was done when it was re-chambered in the 1930's. The original bottom rear sling swivel has been removed & the hole has a wood plug fill. on the left cheek there is the crossed out S/N of the previous rifle. The right cheek of the rifle has another crossed out number & the new S/N stamped into it. There is a ''0'' stamped into the top of the wrist. The rear of the comb is marked with a ''17'' in a box & a ''20'' in two boxes. The metal was re-blued when it was re-arsenaled & re-chambered in the 1930's, & as such rates 90% with full coverage, just has spots of wear & thinning. The receiver band is marked ''BUDAPEST'', ''M.95''. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N. the right side of the receiver is marked with a Prussian eagle proof stamp. All the marking on the receiver are faint from being buffed when it was re-blued. The left side of the barrel is marked with the S/N. the top of the barrel is marked with a ''S'' which means this rifle was re-chambered to 8x56mmR during the 1930's by OE.W.G. Styer, this mark would also be used as a military acceptance mark for the Austrian government in the 30's. the bottom end of the barrel is marked with import stamps. The bore is excellent. The barrel holds a tall barleycorn front sight, with a flip up ladder, V-notch rear sight marked 6 to 24. the stock carries a blued steel buttplate. Rifle has both side sling mounts. A very nice example of a M95/30 straight pull rifle that was originally a carbine, not a ling rifle that was cut down. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
