Kokura Arsenal, Model: Type 38, Cal: 6.5x50mmSR, MFG: 1933-40, S/N: 67761, Bolt action rifle, 24 3/4'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip wood stock is good as being cut down, sanded & oiled. The stock has been sanded down & shaped in areas & has a few wood dowel stock reinforcements in the belly of the stock. The cleaning rod hole has been plugged. Stock has cracks in a few spots. All of the metal surfaces are gun metal gray with cleaner signs of heavy rust & pitting being on them & cleaned off. The top of the receiver band is marked with a intact chrysanthemum & ''TYPE 38'' in Japanese. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N & the Kokura arsenal logo. The rear tang has a modern replaced bolt. The bore is good. Its bright with areas of roughness & thinned rifling. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with protective ears. Front sight is mounted to the barrel with what appears to be JB weld & was also mounted backwards. The rear sight is a V-notch ladder sight with the markings on the ladder being un readable from the cleaned rust. The stock carries a steel buttplate that's toned to a brown patina with spots of gun metal gray showing. The rifle has no sling mounts. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 60 to 250
