Colt, 1851 Navy - 4th Model, CAL: 36, MFG: 1870, SN: 211038, Single Action Revolver, 7 1/2'' octagon barrel. The top of the barrel is marked ''ADDRESS COL SAM L COLT NEW YORK U.S AMERICA''. The left side of the frame is marked ''COLT'S PATENT''. The caliber marking can be seen on the right side of the trigger guard. All matching SN. The original wood grips are very good & solid, having been lightly sanded & refinished. The bottom front corner of the left grip & top front edge have small edge chips, along with smoothed contusions & scrapes under the finish. The metal blue finish has fully worn to a mix of metal gray & brown patina, with consistent cleaned pitting throughout. The case-hardened frame has shadows remaining from case-colors &has worn to a mix of metal gray/brown patina. The brass trigger guard has an aged patina. The cylinder has worn smooth, with remnants of the patent no. mark. Bore is fair, with consistent pitting amongst strong rifling. Small hammer notch rear sight (when cocked) & small brass bead front sight. Comes in a custom wood case, with a partially full powder tin, appx 25 round balls & a small tin of percussion caps. The bottom left of the lid is cracked where it's attached to the hinge, otherwise very good. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 1500
