Colt, New Service Model 1909 Transition, CAL: 45 COLT, MFG: 1924, SN: 320091, Double Action Revolver, 5 1/2'' barrel. The Colt checkered hard rubber grips are excellent. The bottom front corner of the left grip does have a small edge chip, otherwise excellent. Added wood grip insert, with an edge chip. The revolver appears to have been refinished at one time. The address & patent dates appear thin from being buffed. The barrel rates 70%, with areas worn to metal gray, toned to brown patina & a discolored heat exposure spot between the address stamp & front sight. The metal blue finish on the frame rates 85%, with concentrated loss on the top strap, along with similar heat exposure discolorations on both sides of the top strap. The cylinder rates 70%, with scratches, spotting & areas worn to metal gray, toned to a brown patina. The metal blue finish on the trigger guard rates 60%, with concentrated loss on the front & back strap. Lanyard loop has been removed & stud was smoothed. Bore is excellent, with intermittent speckling & light wear marks. Integral notch rear sight & dorsal fin blade front sight. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
