Colt, New Service Model 1909 Army Model, CAL: 45 LC, MFG: 1910, SN: 42000, Double Action Revolver, 5 1/2'' barrel. The original wood grips are excellent, with overall light wear from age & use. The original arsenal refinish rates 85% on the barrel, with holster wear & 80% on the frame/trigger guard with concentrated wear to the top/front/back straps, toned to a brown patina. The bottom of the barrel is marked ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY'', the left side of the barrel is marked ''COLT D.A. 45'', the top of the barrel has standard address/patent dates. The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo intertwined with a ''C''. The right side of the frame is marked ''R.A.C.'' above the grip & ''F.B'' is stamped above the cylinder guard. The butt is marked ''U.S ARMY MODEL 1909 NO 42000''. Bore is good & bright, with consistent roughness & intermittent pitting. Integral u-notch rear sight & dorsal fin blade front sight. Lanyard loop present. Comes with a Colt Factory Letter, confirming the configuration & date of the revolver. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1900 to 2900
