P. Webley & Son, R.I.C Model 83, CAL: marked .450/.455, MFG: 1883-1939, SN: 69490, Double Action Revolver, 2 1/2'' barrel. The top strap is marked in two lines ''P.WEBLEY & SON LONDON & BIRMINGHAM''. The left side of the frame is marked with the winged bullet logo over ''W&S'', marked '' WEBLEY'S R.I.C. MODEL/83'' in an oval fashion, over ''5 SHOT'', which over the full SN. The right side of the frame is marked ''A 757'', apart from ''6 D^D'', somewhat overlapping with the .450/.455 caliber markings. The markings on the right side of the frame represent use in the Australian National Government Defense Department. Non-legible proof marks on the left side of the barrel. The wrap-around checkered wood grips are good & solid. There are multiple contusions, scrapes, nicks & dings. The metal surfaces have worn to a mix of metal gray, brown patina & metal blue finish remaining in heavily protected areas. Bore is very good & bright, with intermittent pitting & thin rifling. Integral V-notch rear sight & dorsal fin blade front sight. Lanyard loop present. Missing cylinder rod tip. Free spinning cylinder when the hammer is down & some play in the cylinder when hammer is locked back. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 400
