EXCELLENT, E. Remington & Sons, Elliot's 4-Shot Ring Trigger Derringer, CAL: 32 RF, MFG: 1863-88, SN: 15157, 3 3/8'' barrel. The left side of the barrel cluster is marked ''MANUFACTURED BY E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION, N.Y.'' & the right side is marked ''ELLIOTS' PATENTS MAY 29, 1860-OCT 1, 1861''. The last number one is barely legible. The frame is marked ''B'' above the left grip. The walnut grips are excellent, with minor handling marks & thinning finish. The original nickel finish rates 90% overall, with consistent spotting throughout & some areas of spotting toned to a thin brown patina. All bores are fair. They are dark & rough, with intermittent pitting. Integral notch rear sight & blade front sight. These small hideout pistols gained favor with gamblers, wealthy gentleman & lawmen. Total production estimated to be 17,500. An impressive testament to 19th century Remington quality, as it left the factory appx 150 years ago. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 3000
