Allen & Thurber, 6-Shot Pepperbox, CAL: 32, MFG: 1840's-50's (1837 Patent Date), SN: 251 (under grips), Percussion Pepperbox, 3 1/2'' smooth bore barrels. Double Action Only. The barrels are marked ''ALLEN & THURBER WORCHESTER'', ''PATENTED 1837 CAST STEEL'' & the left side of the hammer is marked ''ALLENS PATENT''. The frame & percussion cap shield display simple decorative engraving. The wood grips are excellent, with minor surface marks. The metal finish has fully toned to a smooth brown patina, with remnants of blue. Bores are all good, consistently rough, with intermittent pitting. No sights. The trigger guard is loose & barrel cluster does not rotate when trigger is pulled. These sidearms were great for personal protection & used by many during the ''Gold Rush'' era. A.) If you signed up and asked us to bill your credit card & ship all items ASAP then that is what we will do. No further notice will be sent.
