UNIQUE, Blunt & Syms, 5-Shot Ring Trigger Small Frame Pepperbox. CAL: .25, MFG: 1840's-60's, SN: 20, Double Action Underhammer Percussion Pistol. 1 3/4'' barrel cluster. Blunt & Syms firearms are easily identified by the ''R-C'' mark (usually on the face of the cylinder) before they were marked ''marked ''BLUNT & SYMS / NEW YORK'' as seen on later examples. The front face of the barrel cluster is marked ''R-C'' & ''20''. The wood grips are very good & solid. There are scrapes, dings & darkening from protective oils added over time. The metal finish has fully worn to metal gray, being cleaned & polished to reveal a bright silver tone, with cleaned pitting toned to a brown patina. The frame has been tastefully engraved with a floral scroll pattern. Bores are fair, dark & rough. No sights. The barrel cluster rotates when the trigger is pulled. Nipples are all in tact. Blunt & Syms manufactured high quality percussion single shot derringer-type pistols & their own unique pepperbox handguns in the pre-Civil War years. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 3000
