RARE, Wesson & Harrington, Derringer Pistol, CAL: 22RF, MFG: circa 1859, SN: 37, Single Shot Tip-Up Pistol, 3'' step down barrel. This is a very rare little pistol, made during the approximate six-month business relationship between Frank Wesson & Nathan Harrington. It is to be said that appx. 100 were produced in that short span. The top of the barrel is marked in three lines ''WESSON & HARRINGTON'', ''WORCESTER MASS.'', ''PATENT APPLIED FOR'', which is different than later examples with the 1859 patent date. The two-piece wood grips are excellent, with minor scrapes & handling marks. The metal blue finish on the barrel has worn to a mix of metal gray & brown patina. The brass frame has an attractive aged patina, with minor blemishes. Bore is good & bright with intermittent pitting. Small brass bead front sight. A nice example of a desirable antique American pistol. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 4000
