Allen & Thurber, Single Shot Pistol, CAL: measured .35, MFG: 1842-54, SN: 576, Single Shot Percussion Pistol, 5'' 1/2 octagon 1/2 round step down barrel. These firearms would've been intended for use as a concealable self-defense pistol in the mid-19th Century & also a favorite of miners during the gold rush. The barrel is marked ''ALLEN & THURBER'', ''WORCESTER'', ''CAST STEEL'' & the SN can been seen on the bottom barrel flat. The wood grips are very good & solid. There are contusions, dings & scrapes, with areas of thinning finish. The metal surfaces have been cleaned & polished, leaving the pistol bright silver, with intermittent spotting toned to a brown patina. Bore is good, with pitting in the grooves of strong rifling & one rifling groove is worn smooth. Notch rear sight & small bead front sight. The pistol comes with a tool that is both a barrel wrench & bullet mold. A unique and seldom seen tool to accompany the pistol. The tool has no markings. A Civil War era ''boot'' pistol. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 400 to 800
