Maltby Henley & Co. Spencer Safety Hammerless, CAL: .32 CF, MFG: 1880's-90's, SN: 9052 (inside right frame panel), (SN on bottom of frame punched out), Double Action Revolver, 3 1/8'' barrel. Maltby Henley & Co. was associated with the Otis Smith company in the 1890's & their building of a revolver known as the 'Spencer Safety Hammerless'. Only a few thousand are thought to have been produced. In addition to rarity, there are two interesting features that set this revolver apart. One, the frame is completely made of brass & two, the frame-mounted safety. Rolling the safety to the forward locks the trigger completely. This example has the early all brass frame bearing the Maltby name stamp & correct patent dates. The fancy carved & checkered hard rubber grips are excellent. The original nickel finish has fully worn brass, with remnants of nickel finish in heavily protected areas. Some areas of cleaned pitting near the Bore is poor, dark & rough. Small notch rear sight & blade front sight. This revolver would have been used a hideout handgun for self-defense purposes. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 500
