RARE, Allen & Wheelock, First Model Sidehammer, CAL: 32 RF, MFG: 1859-62, SN: 2, Single Action Revolver, 3 barrel. The left side of the barrel has a two line address & patent dates that reads ''ALLEN & WHEELOCK. WORCESTER. MS. U.S'', & ''ALLENS PAT'S SEPT. 7. NOV. 9. 1858.''. The cylinder displays a clear game scene image of dogs chasing a rabbit. The SN matching wood grips are excellent, with minor contusions & surface scrapes. The metal has fully worn to metal gray & toned to a brown patina. Bore is good & bright, with intermittent pitting amongst strong rifling. Integral groove rear sight & brass post front sight. These were handy personal sidearms for civilians & officers at the beginning of the Civil War. Allen and Wheelock made only about a thousand of these pistols. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 400 to 800
