Colt, Model: M1911A1 Government Model, Cal: .45 ACP, MFG: 1932, S/N: C162052, Semi-auto pistol, 5'' barrel. The checkered, diamond grips are excellent. The reblued metal finish on the frame rates90%, while the blue on the slide rates 85%, with spotty thinning & speckling. The darker tone on the front 1/3 of the slide is from that part being hardened to help increase its strength, leading to the metal holding onto the bluing better than the un-hardened section. The left side of the slide is marked ''COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO.HARTFORD.CT.U.S.A.'', & under that is a line of Colt's patent dates. The right side of the slide is marked ''COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE .45'' & a rampant Colt logo. The right side of the frame is marked ''GOVERNMENT MODEL'', & the S/N. The left side of the trigger guard is marked with a ''VP'' in a triangle stamp, which is the Colt verified proof factory inspection stamp. The right side of the trigger guard is marked ''60''. The bore is excellent. The slide holds a replaced target sights, which are a taller front sight & a taller square notch rear sight. Pistol comes with one mag marked ''C-R'' on the bottom of the floorplate & ''R'' on the upper part of the floor plate. A very nice example of a pre-WW2 Colt Government Model.
