Colt, Model: M1911A1 Government Model, Cal: .45 ACP, MFG: 1947, S/N: C228561, Semi-auto pistol, 5'' barrel. The checkered, rampant colt logo, plastic grips are MINT. The blued metal finish rates 95% overall with light holster wear, & light wear from the action cycling. The left side of the slide is marked ''COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO.HARTFORD.CT.U.S.A.''. The right side of the slide is marked ''COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE .45'' & a rampant colt logo. The right side of the frame is marked ''GOVERNMENT MODEL'', & the S/N. the left side of the trigger guard is marked with a ''T'', & a ''VP'' in a triangle stamp which is the colt verified proof factory inspection stamp. The right side of the trigger guard is marked ''2''. The previous lot is another Colt M1911 Government model that is less that 3000 pistols off in the S/N, both pistols have the same exact imperfections in the stampings, specifically the ''.'' in the ''HARTFORD.'' stamp on the left side of the slide, also the ''I'', & ''E'' in the ''CALIBER'' mark on the right of the slide. They even have the same fading on the bottom of the rampant colt logo, with the stamping appearing lighter on this pistol which is the later one. Its in our opinion that both pistols have not been re-blued & the imperfections were caused by worn out stamps from the factory & not from having been altered or buffed & re-blued. The bore is excellent, near MINT. The slide holds a wide blade front sight with a square notch rear sight. Pistol comes with one mag marked ''COLT'', ''.45 AUTO.'' on the floorplate. A excellent example a Colt Government Model M1911 that was made just after WW2. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
