Walther (ac code), Model: P.38, Cal: 9x19mm, MFG: March 1942, S/N: 6931b, Semi-auto pistol, 4 7/8'' barrel. The grooved, Bakelite grips are very good with minor stains/scuffs. The metal finish has been re-blued, its looks to be a arsenal re-blue. As such it rates 95 % with little wear. The barrel has been replaced is a later Bundeswehr Spec marked, P1 barrel. The left side of the slide is marked ''P.38'', ''ac'' over ''42'', & the S/N, all the markings have been buffed & are thin. The right side of the slide is marked with two Waffenamt proof stamps, & one iron eagle proof stamp, all markings are slightly faded around the edges but are almost fully present. The front barrel lug is marked with a dot in a circle stamp, which means it was proofed & tested at the Walther plant in Ulm for the specifications of the Bundeswehr, a stamp that's just a circle with no dot means it was made for the commercial market, not the military. The left side of the barrel lug is marked with the S/N. The bottom of the barrel is marked with import stamps. The bottom of the right side of the slide is marked ''GERMANY''. The left side of the frame is marked with the S/N & a Waffenamt proof stamp. The right side of the frame also has a Waffenamt proof stamp. The bore is excellent. The barrel holds a tall, wide blade front sight with a U-notch rear sight. Pistol comes with one modern Walther mag. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
