Nagoya Arsenal Toriimatsu Branch, Model: Nambu type 14, Cal: 8x22 Nambu, MFG: 1944, S/N: 18164 (second Series), Semi-auto pistol. 4 5/8'' barrel. The grooved wood grips are very good with small nicks, scuffs, & dents. The blued metal finish retains complete coverage with areas of wear/thinning, & one spot of light rust patina on the barrel by the frame. As such the finish rates 90%. The left side of the frame is marked with the model designation in Japanese, which reads from right to left ''TYPE 14''. The safety markings are also in Japanese, the forward position is fire, & the rearward position is safe. The right side of the frame is marked with the Nagoya Arsenal logo, a Square in a circle stamp which is there serial series mark, & means ''ro'' which is the second letter in the traditional Japanese alphabet, & then the S/N. The lower part of the right side of the frame is marked, with the Japanese character ''sho'' to designate Emperor Hirohito's reign, the date code ''19.2'', & the Japanese letter ''na'' for Nagoya, which is the final inspection mark. The bore is very good. Its bright & mirror like with like thinning to the rifling. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a square notch rear sight. Pistol comes with one 8 Rd. aluminum base magazine. Originally designed in 1902 the type 14 Nambu would go on to replace the Type 26 Revolver in 1926 & would be used by the Japanese army until the end of WW2. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
