ROF Maltby, Model: No.4 MK.1, Cal: .303 British, MFG: 1944, S/N: 17044, Bolt action rifle, 25 1.4'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip wood stock is good as being cut down, sanded & oiled. The stock has a few hairline cracks around the wrist band. No visible markings on the stock. The metal finish on the barrel has mostly worn away with areas of gun metal gray, rust, brown patina, but still has a few spots of thinned finish. The metal finish on the barrel rates 70% with spots of thinning, rust & patina. The left side of the wrist band is marked ''BX'', ''M1944'', the S/N, & a downward facing, wide arrow. The left side of the receiver is marked with faint proof stamps, ''NO4MK1 F (FTR)'', ''NO.4MKI.''. The top of the barrel is stamped with proof marks. Rifle has a S/N matched bolt, but the bolt face is missing from the bolt. Bore is good. Its beginning to darken with areas of roughness/ light pitting. The barrel holds a wide blade front sight with protective ears. The rear of the receiver has a two position flip up aperture rear sight. The stock carries a brass trapdoor buttplate. Trapdoor has nothing inside. Rifle has the original rear sling loop with a front sling swivel added to the very front of the barrel. This rifling is missing parts & is being sold AS IS with NO RETURNS ACCEPTED. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 250
