US, Camillus Cutlery Co., M4 bayonet & sheath. The blade retains some finish with most areas worn gray, & some spots of rust/brown patina. The guard & pommel retain almost full finish coverage with spots of wear & brown patina, the bottom of the pommel has rust. The leather grip has use wear & scuffs. The top of the guard is marked ''U.S.M4'', ''CAMILLUS'' the sheath has chips, dings, rust, & wear. The sheath is marked ''U.S. M8A1'', ''PWH''. The M1 carbine originally did not have a bayonet lug, & was not issued with a bayonet. This was clearly a problem, so in June of 1944, a clamp on bayonet lug, & the M4 bayonet was designed, the clamp on design was done so existing rifles could be modified to take a bayonet. The M4 bayonet was made from modifying the already existing M3 fighting knife, by adding a bayonet mounting pommel, & barrel ring to it. Grade: Very Good ++ - Value: 150 to 300
