British, Pattern 1856 Yataghan Sword Bayonet, the blade has been buffed enough where the fuller on both sides is faint. Blade still has spots of patina. There are no visible markings on the bayonet. This sword bayonet was made for the 1853, .577 Caliber Enfield Rifled Infantry Short-musket. They were issued to many British units, & they were sold in large numbers to both union & confederate armies during the civil war, to use on bought 1853 Enfield muskets. Many of these bayonets would be converted to fit on martini-henry rifles as well. Grade: Very Good + - Value: 80 to 160
