VERY SCARCE, ONE OF 3 KNOWN. Mexican Model 1910 Mauser Bayonet FAL trial conversion. The bayonet has been re-blued & has cleaned pitting under the finish all along the blade. There if a faint mark on the left side of the blade. The wood grips have small cracks, chips, dings, & wear from use. The grips are also held on with wire. Two muzzle rings have been welded to the back spine of the bayonet. The bayonet has a few spots of light rust. These bayonets were a attempt to convert the bayonets for the M1910 Mausers, for use with the FAL Mexico was about to adopt. Instead of buying new Bayonets from FN, they wanted to use up the large stockpile of bayonets they had. Ultimately it would not workout & Mexico would just buy the standard Bayonet from FN alongside the rifles. The consigner states this is one of three known to exist.
