Uruguay, FN, M1895 Bayonet & sheath. The whole blade has been buffed cleaned with faint markings & spots of cleaned pitting all along the blade. The right side of the blade has a faint star over ''AP'' stamp. The left side of the blade has a partial visible mark that reads ''ALEX''. The metal sheath has wear & paint chipping. FN began marketing the Spanish Mauser to other countries, although FN had no rights to produce the Mauser M1893 design. The fallout was severe for FN. In February 1896, the German firm, Ludwig Loewe Co., obtained majority control of FN. At that point, Loewe allowed FN to complete the Uruguay rifle contract, but prohibited further contracts. Uruguay received 20,000 rifles & bayonets in November of 1896. Grade: Very Good - Value: 50 to 100
