German, Staatliche Waffenfabrik Chatellerault (France), M1884/98 Third Pattern (K98k), bayonet, with S/N MATCHED sheath, & frog. The blade is blued & has sheath wear. The guard & pommel have finish wear, the pommel is toning to a brown patina. The black grips have scratches & wear. The left side of the blade is marked ''jwh'', & the right side is marked ''4912'', ''f''. The spine of the blade is marked ''42''. The left side of the pommel is marked with two Waffenamt proof marks. The sheath has wear & is toning brown. The sheath is marked with the same S/N that's on the bayonet. The leather frog has handling & age wear. The retention strap has a tear. The markings on the back of the frog are worn & faint, but the date stamp is slightly visible & appears to be 1943. Grade: Excellent - Value: 100 to 300
